Narrowing the Divide: Addressing Inequities in California’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure

This Harvard Kennedy School Student Policy Review article examines inequities in California’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure and how building codes influence who has access to the benefits of EV adoption. Co-authored by three members of the National Charging Access Coalition’s leadership team (Sven Thesen, Marc Geller, and Vanessa Warheit), the article explores how disparities in residential charging access have historically disadvantaged multifamily housing residents and highlights efforts to update CALGreen standards to expand equitable access to affordable home charging.
